Chapter 100

Sara was laying in bed , she was home alone and felt in need of some comfort.She had woken up from a childhood flashback that had'nt been pleasant.Tears rolled down her cheeks and she hugged her pillow and quietly drifted off to sleep .A little while later Sara heard Grissom come home, he drank some water and went to find Sara.Sara was sleeping again when he looked in on her.He took off his shoes and slid into bed beside her.Sara was grateful he was home and he kissed her on the cheek and said " Hi honey"Sara reached for his hand and said "I'm glad you are home"Grissom let her rest her head on his chest and he stroked her soft dark hair , he smelled her sweet gardenia perfume and smiled.Sara finally felt safe and snuggled in his arms with a happy sigh."There's my beautiful angel "Grissom said cuddling her close to him.Sara longed to tell him about her painful childhood  and she reached for Grissom's hand so she could hold it in hers and said "Grissom can I tell you something ?" Grissom lay facing her and said "Of course you can baby" Sara swallowed the lump in her throat and said " I was beaten as a child , my dad was always putting his hands on me " Grissom was horrified hearing that, he loved Sara more then anything.Sara continued, "Even if I spilled a glass of milk or took too long in the shower that meant a beating later."Sara turned away and her shoulders shook as she started to sob remembering.Grissom felt tears sting his eyes and he took Sara in his arms and hugged her saying close saying "Oh , Honey my God I am so so sorry that happened to you , Ssssssshhhh it's ok baby I'm here"Sara let him hold her for a long time and she eventually lay down and fell alsleep.Grissom fell alsleep holding her close to him in case she had a bad dream.She did'nt but she appreciated him holding her anyway.

Sara slept peacefully in Grissom's arms, there was no place she felt more safe, Grissom snored softly and Sara smiled and lay back against her pillow.Grissom woke up and smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.Sara blinked at him and asked him if he was hungry, " A little bit, he said "Are you hungry sweetheart?" Sara nodded and said "Yeah"Catherine had Emmi at her house for the day.Sara said " You want to go out to eat ?' Grissom nodded and said "Sure let's do that " Sara gave him a relieved smile, Cooking was not her strong suit but Grissom loved her too much to judge anything that she did, To him everything she did was perfect.Sara brushed her hair and changed her clothes and sprayed on a little of her favorite Gardenia perfume .Grissom ruffled her hair as he passed by her and said "You ready honey?" Sara said "Almost and slipped on her coat.She was starving and looking forward to being with Grissom.He reached out and touched her face and said"You look beautiful sweetheart" Sara blushed and kissed his hand.He locked up thier place and they got in his car and left to go to the restaurant.Grissom was proud to be seen with her, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and the nicest too.

Chapter 99

Sara had been sleeping peacefully next to Grissom until she had a bad dream that scared her awake, she cried when she realized it was just a dream with relief "You ok honey?" Grissom asked hearing her sniffling "Had another scary dream" Sara wiped her eyes and sighed "Awwww honey come here" Grissom said gently , he reached out and gave her a hug and kissed her cheek and said "It's alright honey, you're safe, I love you so much" he added .Sara smiled at him  and kissed his hand and said "I love you too"He always made her feel safe and he protected her and always took such good care of Sara.Sara knew she was lucky and she counted her blessings every day.

Sara got up and took a hot shower washing herself with her favorite gardenia bodywash, she washed her hair too and it was shiny and smelled good when she got out of the shower.After her shower she made some scrambled eggs and toast for herself Grissom and Emmi.Sara loved cooking for them and she made some jasmine tea too and sat drinking it as she read the newspaper.Grissom came in the kitchen to join her and said "Mmmm good eggs honey" after taking a bite.Sara smiled at him and was pleased. After he ate he got Emmi up and dressed and then  Catherine came by to pick her up for the day.She was nearly three and a beautiful child with curly brown ringlets, big brown eyes and a dimple on her left cheek.When Catherine came to get Emmi she kissed Sara and said "Bye mommy, I love you" Sara's heart melted and she kissed Emmi and said "I love you too baby, have a good day" and Catherine was off.Grissom and Sara were going to enjoy some alone - time together that day ........ Chapter 98

Sara had been battling the flu for the past three days, it had been rough for her and  she was dehydrated and not able to keep anything down.Grissom was really worried about her, He woke up and found her dry - heaving in front of the toilet."Oh honey, he said kneeling down to rub her back "That's it he said firmly "I'm taking you to the hospital."Sara was too sick to argue and he called up  Catherine to let her take Emmi for the day.He put his arm around Sara and said "Ok sweetheart"He waited till Catherine came to pick up Emmi and put Sara in the car, he gave her a bucket to hold in case she got sick which she did twice on the way to the hospital."I'm sorry" Sara whimpered to him and wiped her mouth."Grissom reached for her hand and kissed it gently and said "It's ok baby"He was worried about how pale her face was.When they got to the hospital he emptied her bucket into a wastebasket in the parking lot and helped her inside.He had her sit down and told the clerk behind the counter it was an emergency and Sara needed to be seen right away.They took one look at Sara's pale face and nodded.Grissom pulled her close to him and let her rest her head on his shoulder, but they did'nt have to wait long at all.

The nurse came and got Sara and whisked her away, Grissom waited patiently in the waiting room , but he had a feeling Sara would have to be admitted so she could finally keep fluids down, sure enough the nurse came out 20 minutes later and said Sara had to stay overnight."Can I see her?" Grissom asked.The nurse nodded and took Grissom to Sara's room where she was in bed with an iv in her arm.Sara was sleeping and he took a seat by her bed and held her hand.He sat gazing at her every so often leaning over to kiss her.Grissom needed to leave for a while but he told Sara he would be back a little later.He hated leaving her but he had to go by the lab on a special request from Ecklie.

Sara had no idea but the nurse that was caring for her was an angel and when she first saw Sara she swore that Sara was her own daughter Sharon who had been stabbed to death years ago.Sara looked exactly like Sharon had , they had the same dark hair, big brown eyes and the gap in Sara's teeth was just like Sharon's had been.Nurse Dwyer could'nt believe how much Sara looked like her Sharon.She took extra special care of Sara and became fond of her quickly.Sara woke up to flowers by her bed and cold water in a cup beside her.She had begun to feel a little better from the fluid being given to her in her arm.She took a sip of water and it stayed down.Relieved she got out of her bed to go to the bathroom and noticed someone had put packages of moist wipes and extra rolls of soft toilet paper in her hospital bathroom.Sara thought it was probably Grissom and she appreciated the kindness.Sara went back to her bed after using the bathroom and just sat resting.Nurse Dywer came in to check on Sara and saw she was awake.She smiled and went over to talk to her."How are you feeling Sara?" Nurse Dwyer asked her , Sara nodded and said "A little better thanks"Nurse Dwyer offered her a cup of Gatorade and Sara sat up and took a few sips.She set the cup down and said "Thanks"Nurse Dwyer smiled at Sara and said "You look exactly like my daughter did , she was a beautiful woman like you " Sara blushed and thanked her for the compliment.When Nurse Dwyer left it dawned on Sara that her daughter must have died and it made her feel sad.

  

 Grissom came back later as promised and talked to Nurse Dwyer before going to see Sara.Nurse Dwyer told him Sara was doing better and could probably go home the next day."I have to admit I'll be sorry to see Sara go, Nurse Dwyer said kindly "I've become very fond of her, she looks exactly like my daughter Sharon did"Before Grissom could say anything Nurse Dwyer reached into her pocket and pulled out a picture of Sharon, the resemblance between her and Sara was remarkable, he gasped and said Wow I am so sorry you lost your daughter" Nurse Dwyer nodded and said "My life was never the same after I lost Sharon, she was my world and she was also four months pregnant with my grandchild when she died. I wish I could have met my grandchild" Grissom felt so bad for Nurse Dywer, here she was suffered two unimaginable losses and yet she had'nt given up caring so much for her patients in the hospital.Grissom put his hand on hers and said "I am so sorry, Sara would probably love to stay in touch with you " He told her kindly. Nurse Dwyer said she would like that and went off to check on another patient.

Grissom went in to check on Sara feeling so bad for Nurse Dwyer, she was a kind soul who did'nt deserve all the tragedy in her past.Sara was awake when he went in and he walked over and kissed her cheek and said " How are you feeling sweetheart?" Sara reached for his hand and said "Much better Nurse Dwyer has been so good to me"Grissom nodded and said "She's a great lady "Sara sat up and said "Her daughter died , that is so sad" Grissom nodded and agreed and said " Her grandchild did too" "Awwwww poor lady" Sara's pretty face looked sad .Grissom said "You could still keep in touch with her honey and let her meet Emmi sometime " Sara nodded and said that was a great idea.Grissom smoothed her hair back from her face  and rubbed her back.Sara began to feel alot better and she was able to keep the milkshake down Grissom had brought her.When Nurse Dwyer came back to check on Sara later she had regained all the color in her cheeks and she said "I think we can let you go home now" Sara was relieved to hear that and Nurse Dwyer gave her the discharge papers and her clothes and gave Sara a hug and a kiss calling her a beautiful angel.Sara cried and promised to keep in touch with her and even offering to let her babysit Emmi.Grissom hugged and kissed Nurse Dwyer too and thanked her for taking such good care of Sara.Nurse Dwyer wiped a tear and said how special Sara was and how she always deserved to be treated well.The day had ended happily, Sara was feeling better and Grissom and Sara had a wonderful new friend in thier lives, To Be Continued ......................................

Chapter 97

Sara was in bed just waking up.Grissom leaned over and kissed her forehead " Hi honey" he said stroking her cheek.He sat admiring her beauty, he loved the light dusting of freckles on her nose and  the way her pretty brown eyes sparkled when she was happy.Sara smiled at him and kissed his hand."What would you like to do today?' he asked her " Mmmmm maybe go out to lunch and take Emmi to the park" she suggested.Grissom nodded and said "Sounds good to me"

Sara got up and made herself some coffee, Emmi was still sleeping but Sara cooked her and Grissom each an omlette with steamed vegetables.She went to get Emmi up and said "C'mon honey I made you breakfast" Emmi followed Sara into the kitchen and Sara poured her a cold glass of juice and said "There you go sweetie, eat your food"Emmi was starving and cleaned her plate "Good girl" Sara said "Now go get dressed  so we can go to the park later " Emmi scampered off to her room to get dressed.Grissom after showering came downstairs to eat too.Sara sat with him while he ate and they chatted.

After breakfast Sara put the dishes in the dishwasher and they all got into her car and left for the day to spend time with each other, it was a beautiful sunny day and Sara was glad to spend it with the two people she loved the most, To Be Continued ...................

Chapter 96

Catherine was watching Emmi for Grissom and Sara so Sara was laying in bed talking to Grissom.He sat stroking her hair as she talked to him, his blue eyes were tender on her as she lay facing him."I 'm so tired" Sara said and Grissom let her lay closer to him and he let her rest her head on his chest, he kissed her on the top of the head and said " Just rest honey" Her pretty brown eyes blinked and she nodded off in his arms. He lay admiring her while she slept  and soon he fell alsleep too holding the woman he loved.

When Sara woke up Grissom was making her a delicious lunch and she smiled at him when he handed her a plate.He had made them both grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup and Sara thanked him for making lunch "No problem sweetheart" he said "Go ahead and eat while it's hot "Sara was starving and finished both the sandwich and the soup too.Grissom ate his food and then asked Sara if she wanted to go for a walk with him " Sure " she grinned and said " Let me change my clothes " and she went upstairs and then a few minutes later looking adorable in a lavender sweat suit she joined him and said " Ok , let's go" and he took her hand in  his and they both left for thier walk with the afternoon sun beaming on them.......... Chapter 95

Sara lay in bed , she felt like she was getting sick, her throat hurt and her nose had started to run.She hated being sick , she reached for a kleenex and dabbed her nose." Grissom woke up and said "what's wrong honey ?" Sara sighed and said "I'm getting a cold "He kissed her and said "Awwww I'll take care of you sweetheart"He reached out and felt her forehead, she did'nt feel warm, but he could tell she did'nt feel well.He reached for her hand and said "Want me to get you anything honey ? " Sara could'nt ignore the pain in her throat any longer "Yeah maybe something for my sore throat "My poor baby" he said tenderly , he hated seeing her not feeling well but he would do everything he could to make her feel better. 

Grissom went downstairs to get her a cup  of  orange sherbert  and something for her throat.When he came back upstairs Sara was still in bed, he smoothed back her hair and said "Sit up a minute baby, I brought you something,  Sara blinked and said "Ok" He fed her spoonfuls of the the sherbert and then gave her a throat drop to suck on."Thanks for taking such good care of me" Sara said softly.She felt him kiss her forehead gently and he said "you're welcome sweetheart" Sara decided to go back to sleep for a while but before she did Grissom said "Call me if you need anything honey'

He watched her fall back alsleep and then went downstairs to do a few things.He did the laundry for Sara and the dishes.Emmi was with Catherine for the day, he made himself  a cup of coffee and sat drinking it.Just before he finished his coffee he heard Sara calling him, an hour had passed and he went upstairs to see her.She  was awake , but her face looked flushed."What's up honey?" he said reaching for her hand."Now I think I do have a fever" Sara groaned, he took her temperature and found she did "Here honey, he said and brought her two aspirins and a cup of water.She took them and said "Will you draw a bath for me ?" Of course , he said, Sara smiled at him and he watched her get up and make her way to the bathroom, he waited for her to pee and then he turned on the tap and ran her a bath putting her favorite bubble bath in the water, Sara stripped off her nightgown and got in the tub, the cool water helped reduce her fever and Grissom gently washed her hair for her which she loved.He bathed her and took a washcloth and  rubbed her back with it washing her body as well as her hair.Sara felt so much better after he gave her a bath, she lay back down with Grissom and fell alsleep with him holding her in his arms, she felt like the luckiest woman in the world to have Grissom and her beautiful daughter too.......... Chapter 94

Grissom lay next to Sara, he was holding her hand in his and he leaned over and kissed her.The night before he had left CSI for good, Nick and Catherine and Greg and Hodges and Doc Robbins had all been sad, but they understood how much Grissom loved Sara and Emmi too.Sara woke up when he kissed her and he smoothed back her hair and said "Hi honey" Sara smiled at him and saw he was holding her hand, he gently kissed her hand and just sat looking at her " You're so beautiful Sara" he said softly.Sara blushed and said "Awwww thanks Grissom" Emmi was sleeping in the next room and Sara was going to make them both breakfast in a minute.

Sara got up, brushed her teeth, showered, and got dressed.She went downstairs and made scrambled eggs and toast and then got Emmi up so she could eat too.Emmi was so excited to see Sara had made her a little mug of hot chocolate, her brown eyes sparkled when she took a sip and she said " Mmmmmm good mommy" Sara smiled at her, she was such a beautiful little girl and both Grissom and Sara adored her. Grissom came downstairs after showering to eat with them.After breakfast Grissom had a surprise for them both, he was going to take them both on a picnic and he had lunches packed for them, "All right girls, he said you ready?" Sara had Emmi's little hand in hers and they all went outside to the car to enjoy a beautiful sunny day in the park together.So far Grissom was really enjoying his retirement, he was with his two favorite people in the world and he was  able to spend as much time with them as he liked, life was good for Gil Grissom ...........
